Egnacio Ancheta Batacan Egnacio "Eddie" Ancheta Batacan, 88, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2014, at his home in Olympia, surrounded by his daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren. Eddie was born in Aiea, Hawaii on February 1, 1926. Eddie served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1971. He then pursued a college education and earned a Business Administration degree. He worked at the Evergreen State College and retired in 1989. He was a successful entrepreneur and a visionary real estate developer. Eddie was involved in charitable work, local community organizations and volunteering. He enjoyed sports, (especially football), sharing stories with his grandchildren, watching movies, reading, and spending time with his family. Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Flora; son, Gabriel; his parents, Julio and Olimpia Batacan; sisters, Encarnacion and Marcela. Eddie is survived by his loving, devoted daughters, Ida and Helen; son-in-law, Danny Greene; grandchildren, DJ, Mychal, Darla, and Damian; sister Rufina; bothers Julian, Sotero, Avelino Sr., and Saturnino; favorite niece Cecile and her pet monkeys Sally and Pickle; favorite nephew John Batacan; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. Eddie will be greatly missed but his legacy will continue. The memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 5930 Mullen Rd. SE, Lacey, WA., 98503, on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 812 Bowker St., SE, Lacey, WA., 98509, on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
